This collection was inspired by Finnish summer and features iconic Marimekko prints by designers Annika Rimala and Maija Isola. Like prior collaborations between the two brands, this one includes clothing and accessories for women, as well as girls’ and baby clothes.
The third installment in the collaboration between retail giant UNIQLO and legendary Finnish design house Marimekko is inspired by the joy of summer after a long winter – which is certainly a very timely theme. “We are pleased to once again feature iconic Marimekko prints by the company’s legendary designers Maija Isola and Annika Rimala, and this time include a Finnish take on celebrating the end of long winters and the joys of summer times with friends and family,” comments Yuki Katsuta, Head of Research & Development at UNIQLO.
As avid fans of all things caftan, we are excited to see a fully printed long caftan, along with coordinating espadrilles. Other beach-worthy accessories include a bag and hat. Like prior collections, the Spring/Summer 2020 capsule includes the iconic Kivet graphic circles print in bold colors and black and white. There’s also a wavy two-color graphic and a bold floral.
