Did you ever think that for $100 you could buy a signed print by a world-renowned photographer like Bruce Davidson or Alec Soth? How about a distinctive hand photo by Shirin Neshat or an iconic portrait of President Obama by Christopher Anderson? Well, you can, and now’s the time. Magnum Photos is holding its semi-annual Square Print Sale, which includes dozens of 6×6″ museum-quality prints by some of the most famous photographers ever to snap a pic, so head on over to the Magnum Photos website and explore the incredible array of images for sale, but hurry — the sale ends August 2.
This year’s sale is a collaboration with Vogue and the theme is “Solidarity”. Both Magnum photographers and Vogue will be donating 50% of their sale proceeds to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). The museum-quality prints are accompanied by statements from the photographers and estates, reproduced on archival-quality labels on the reverse of the print. Magnum notes that “in a year of global societal and political upheaval that has seen the Black Lives Matter cause taken up around the world as well as hundreds of millions facing government restrictions on movement, this theme asks participating photographers to reflect upon the power of togetherness in tumultuous times.”
