This online store is a destination for contemporary African design, featuring home decor, furniture, rugs and kids’ decor. Founder Nana Quagraine was born in Ghana, raised in South Africa and is now based in New York. She always loved the unique contemporary African design items she found on trips home. But while African designers often inspire global design, she realized these designer’s creations were largely under-represented and hard to access globally. Nana founded 54kibo along with a team of executives, investors, and advisors committed to sharing the vast creativity and talent the African diaspora has to offer the world.

Rochelle Porter
Atlanta-based artist Rochelle Porter founded her eponymous design company with a commitment to fair labor practices, environmentally safe manufacturing, and the use of allergy-free organic and recycled material. Her apparel and home decor textiles feature her unique print designs, drawn from the influences of her Caribbean roots, the stark simplicity of Scandinavian design and the bold geometrics of West African weaves.
